Suggest you to check this issue by removing and re-installing the printer. Moreover it also show the status of the printer.
Usually all available printers will be shown directly under Device and Printers. I understand your concern in this regard. Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. It can not be seen in the above screenshot but, the SHIRLEY-DT icon even has the big, green checkmark on it that is normally associated with your default printer. This behavior is not only inconsistent with older versions of Windowsīut with other manufacturer's printers and even other models of HP printers. It is not listed with the other printers. The above shot shows the LaserJet P3010 listed only if you right click on SHIRLEY-DT icon (the computer itself) listed in the Devices category.
However, it is not listed under Printers in Devices and Printers with the other 7 printers. It's listed in Device Manager and as a printer in Wordpad. The above shot shows the LaserJet 601M installed. I finally noticed that the Computer listed under Devices had these HP printers settings combined into it when you right click it. Or in Devices and Printers in the Control Panel. The printer would show up as a printer in programs such as Wordpad or Excel but would not show up in either the Printers & Scanners modern app At first I thought the icon was just missing.
Seen are listed correctly in Windows 10 such as the LaserJet 4150. If Devices and Printers is opened, these printers used to be listed under the Printers category in Windows 7. While setting up a few desktop PCs, I found the icon for some HP printers was combined into the computer icon under Devices.
